In this current economy, I was wrong.
This experience was good for me though. It was a good eye opener into who my competition is today. Ironically, I was one of the youngest people at the job fair. Most of the attendees were in their upper 30s and 40s, even to the 50s. I didn’t see hardly any recent college grads, to my surprise. I wonder if they were thinking like me, thinking they still have time before crossing the Job Fair Doors Border.
I also got reconfirmed how difficult it is to find writing and media jobs in general and local job fairs, especially in the South. I came out of the job fair with some possible prospects of assistant and administrative jobs, which is fine with me for now. Unfortunately, it did not lead me to an open communications position. I guess I gotta keep trucking! No giving up hope here.
For now, I am happy and blessed to be freelancing and sharing my thoughts and ideas with you all.
Good luck to all out there, Recent Grads!
